DOOMBIENT FOUR
Ramp or Stephen Parsick? Stephen Parsick or Ramp? A questioning which has all its justification, so much the musical hemispheres of the two entities are nearly identical. Recorded after the very dark and ambient concert of Kunstfeld-Feldkunst Visual Art Performance (Doombient: Verbrannte Erde 2002), Caverna Larvarum is a prolongation of heavy, complex, dark and ambient territories of Verbrannte Erde but with strange a zest of claustrophobia. And that does explain! It is in the cave of Dechenhohle, lit by thousand and one candles, that Caverna Larvarum was recorded. Bahr30;! There are indeed some sound minor problems, but I insist to say to you that this album confirms the status of Stephen Parsick as an absolute master of heavy, dark and industrial ambient, with poetic textures.

A synth breathes a heavy wave tinted of mephistophelic opacity, whose delicate oscillations float among heavy resonances, initiates the first emanations of strange and remote crypts of Caverna Larvarum. Superb fluty layers, which subdivide their tender harmonies, wander in these heavinessr17;s cenotaphs deviating in the purest occultism with the Chtonian choral of Summoning. Slow and very enchanting, the longest Caverna Larvarum title transports us at the doors of darkness with an oblong atonal structure tinted of strange shivering, or murmurs, which free with a variable intensity such a satanic Mass that survives in the center of the Earth. Though length, Summoning is magnificently charming with its satanic incantations whose power of octaves overrides the doors and dark layers of a synth stigmatizes by a fright hidden in the abyssal territories of a world in perdition. A world that slips even lower with In Dead Cold and its industrial dins which are agitating under the howls of an apocalyptic rotating light. We are in guts of a chaos that Ektoplasma revives by strident whistles, like an immense howling kettle in a parallel universe, whereas softer and warmer Bioluminiscence installs the bases of an ambient world which quietly seeks the oxygenated air in a beautiful stride to powerful sound waves which drive back in the undertow of its incantation. The life settles with softness, embracing the sound drafts of ambient great names such as Stearns and Roach with soft and tender vocal which once more embrace underground heavinessr17;s with Spectral Moths and its guitar striations that howls with abandonment. A short track which leads us to insanityr17;s doors with A Long Descent; where the guitar of Marcus Reuter always flirts with blackness, shaping its hooting with the paranoia of a forced solitude, whereas the first sequential strikes of Mark Shreever17;s big Moog resound with force to the deepest of our tympanums. A Long Descent transforms itself into a strange hypnotic trance with a heavy and slow rhythm which pulsates with rattling of a bash up cymbal and loops of a guitar with infernal solos, spreading out all the paradox rhythm and lifelessness in a splendid hypnotic bosom which gradually becomes exhausted in order to embrace the abyssal blackness of The Deep Well.

Doombient 4: Caverna Larvarum is the sum of an imagination without ending that a designer transcends to his listener. A pure wonder of a dark, ambient musical world but enchanting where Stephen Parsick draws with deepest of its resources to offer a concert very representative of its environment. We can hear the walls of the cave live and groan on a music at once caustic and warm, we can feel all the paranoia that watches for those which are trap or hide away in the shades of these caves to the thousand and one passages by layers and choruses as intense as black. An intense album which is at the height of this sensitivity that guides works of Stephen Parsick. An excellent album that I strongly recommend to fans of dark and heavy ambient, and A Long Descentr30;.Ouf!

Cover art in ID3 tags seemed to interfere with ezstream, leading to invalid frames sent to the Shoutcast server. We will see how long Shoutcast will make it this time...

Little downtime scheduled this afternoon around 14:00 CEST due to powerline works.

The viastreaming server doesn't seem happy about the new radio software and ceased to work this morning. Working on bringing it back online again.
