nachdem die pers?nlichen Verstimmungen zwischen Frank und mir aus dem Weg ger?umt worden sind, steht der Ver?ffentlichung des bandeigenen Back Catalogue nun nichts mehr im Wege. Dieser Schritt war dringend n?tig, da die verfahrene Situation den gemeinsamen Brunnen f?r immer zu vergiften drohte.
Ich war in den letzten Monaten flei?ig und habe das recht umfangreiche Archiv von ['ramp] aufgearbeitet, um den geneigten H?rern die Evolution der Band mitsamt allen Irrwegen und Sackgassen (oder auch nicht) nahezubringen. Dabei sind bis dato f?nf Downloadalben entstanden -- die komplette Serie doombient.one bis doombient.three plus zwei bis dato nur als Bootleg erh?ltliche Alben, doombient.zero und doombient.four. Dazu weiter unten mehr Infos. In B?lde folgen noch mehr Alben, um den Back Catalogue abrunden und denen zug?nglich machen zu k?nnen, die unsere Musik nicht oder nur fragmentarisch kennen.
Ich bitte diesen Thread nur zur musikalisch-technischen Diskussion zu nutzen. Ich bin f?r den Service, den Musiczeit als Provider liefert, nicht zust?ndig, und die Preise f?r die Downloads mache ich auch nicht. The straight-from-the-desk recording of the Huizen concert of 10th April, 1999. In full glory, with some improvements over the original recordings. I?m sure you?ll love it as this probably encompasses everything ['ramp] stood for around that period. No need to tell all you Dutch readers *why* I chose *that* title, jullie zullen het grapje zeker snappen .
doombient.one: verbrannte erde redux
The reduxed version of the 2003 limited-edition CDR with a couple of bonus tracks. This is not the version as featured on CDR but the recording straight from the desk, with some bum notes and lengthy bits removed, and with a slightly different ending.
doombient.two: a declaration of war redux
The notorious Langenfeld concert of 15th March, 2003. ['ramp] at its most industrial-sounding, and in full length with the opening section included. Not for the faint at heart, be warned!
doombient.three: kalte sterne
The Bochum Planetarium concert of 2007 which turned out to become the pivotal point in the band?s career. For those who missed out on the CDR release. Mastered using API EQs and Empirical Labs compressors and preamps.
doombient.four: caverna larvarum
Originally planned to be released as an official album on CD but shoved aside for an indefinite period of time when things started crumbling apart. Recorded inside a grotto, featuring musical contributions from Edgar Hellwig (tin whistles and flutes), Markus Reuter (touch guitar loops and drones), and Mark Shreeve (monstrous Moog modular sequence), this is probably one of the spookiest ['ramp] recordings ever.

oughtibridge -- the full monty
enth?lt das komplette Konzert von Jodrell Bank (England) 2001 als Mitschnitt direkt aus dem Mischpult und ist mit gut 83 Minuten noch um einiges l?nger als die CD (die es immer noch bei mir zu erwerben gibt, falls Downloads nicht so Euer Ding sind).
frozen radios
gibt es ebenfalls jetzt als virtuelles Album f?r alle, die die originale CD noch nicht haben. Der Download entspricht exakt der CD-Fassung von 2000.
nodular
ist unser Debutalbum, welches noch stark in der Berliner Schule von Tangerine Dream und Klaus Schulze verwurzelt ist, mit "Before the Storm" aber auch schon einen Ausflug in ambientere Gefilde enth?lt. Auch hier handelt es sich um exakt die Version, die 1998/99 bei Manikin in Berlin auf CD erschien und seit etwa 2003 ausverkauft ist.

RAMP ? CEASING TO EXIST (CD)
Ramp is perhaps the most unique and devastatingly powerful. Their "style", which they have coined as "doombient", literally overflows with dense, dark vibrations and latent menace sonically. Up to now they have not been particularly prolific, but now they have literally unleashed 3 albums worth of music, all of which are somewhat different and stunningly graphic electronically. Ceasing To Exist is a collaboration effort featuring Markus Reuter, noted for his excellent works on Ian Boddy?s label. It too is a wall of synthetic sound, but more subtle and as the oozing, electronic undulations conjured up by guitar and synth literally melts from one atmospheric texture and melody into another. The sound of sonic suffocation has never been sweeter.
