Lustmord - Place where the black stars hang
Transcendental

For me it's his best piece, as far as I know his works.

This is just a 7 minutes excerpt I had on the program since the beginning. Starting with last week, the 2006er reedited complete 25 minutes version is on air (from the 'Where the Black Stars Hang' album Ant-Zen re-released in 2013).

I used to have the original Side Effects (I think) album. Sold it.

Boring.

The sort of Dark Ambient Music I avoid like the proverbial plague. You might as well listen to the "Symphonies of the Planets" 6-CD-set.

Boring... maybe that's why I cut the track to 7 minutes in the first place, when I started the stream. But very soon I lost every scruples to add ultra-long tracks, So having this full length is only consequent.

You need to contextualize this album historicallly, I think. Would it have been released today by an unknown artist, maybe there wouldn't be much of a hype around it. But back in the early days (I mean 90th, sic!) this was kind of new. And for me it was like some a revelation. Have heard dark ambient like Raison d'?tre or Delerium before, but nothing that sinister. You can call it a gateway drug. And for that, I'll be eternally indebted to Lustmord...

I don?t remember when exactly PWTBSH was released, but I?m quite sure it was well within the same timespan as e. g. Steve Roach?s and Robert Rich?s darker works, not to mention Michael Stearns, vidnaObmana, or Brian Eno. Unfortunately, some of those weren?t labelled as "Dark Ambient" in the first place and hence didn?t get the attention they deserved to get in some circles.

Blame it on the fact that my first exposure to this sort of ambient music was the exquisite sound design and production work of Robert Rich or the lush textural work of Michael Stearns and Steve Roach -- stuff a lot of elbow grease went into. That?s why I just can?t warm up to 99% of all dark ambient music. It?s just witless by comparison.

But that?s only me, of course. I might be wrong.

Sometimes it's just a matter of socialization. There is no right and wrong when it comes to personal taste. Some classical music or electro-acoustics fanatic would possibly judge the entire californian school of ambient as feeble attempt to music.

Sorry for the disruption. My power grid provider installed a smart meter.

Das liegt daran, dass ich überhaupt nur ganz wenige "Bands" im Programm habe. Wink

Ich bin nun regelmäßig hier auf dem Sender. Einige Bands werden gar nicht gespielt. Schade !!!
