Hello,
anyone here who has experience with listening to a favorite Dark Ambient album and simultanously running a brainwave track (only with the beats) or a shamanistic drum beat?
I had a nice experiment outcome yesterday and would like to share some reflections if anyone is interested.

Sorry for the late reply.
Did you try something like that? If you want, we can continue via pm'ing (auf Deutsch). |

Sounds pretty interesting to make a try!
By the way, has anybody listened the whole "Sleep Therapy" by Nordvargr?

Experiment setup.
Equip: headphones, computer, 2 music players
Tracks: Shamanic Drum track from Lizard Journey album. 30 minutes. (1)
Dark Ambient tracks of your choice. 30 minutes (2)
Time: 7.6.13, 23.30 - 24.00
I sit down, start the tracks and try to calm down. Breathing technique helps.
I have chosen tracks which are very minimalistic, soundscapes without noisy stuff in between or vocal tracks. As I said, I use my album that is thematically centered around European cities. After about 15 minutes, I sense a deeper state of calmness and the images become more vivid. What I see is wild imagination and association. I will not bore you with my fantasies of empty streets and the emotions which rise (but can share if you like) The fact, that after this period of time, something changes in the quality, just because of the rhythm, is interesting.
What are your experiences? |

Interesting thread!
I sometimes use Hemisync before I fall asleep but did not mix it with any DA tracks. I will give it a try!
By the way, the album Apkallu is talking about was released today on ParaLucid Records. You can download it here:

Maybe music cannot lead to "real outer world experiences" as I think you'll need complete silence and absolute concentration and relaxation. But it's worth for calming down and get into this special mood you need for this. |
