Hi.
I'm just wondering if it's feasible to post dj mixes of dark ambient tracks.
In the techno scene it's quite common to post/share dj mixes. That is a legal gray area but nobody complains as those mixes are usually some kind of promotion.
I know that this must be a difficult topic for ambient/dark ambient tracks as they are not produced for being bought to be played by djs in a club, but to be listened at home just like in the mix.
The thing is that I usually make a 3h mix of some of my favorite dark ambient and ambient tracks each winter, trying to create something new by sometimes using only parts of one track and mix it with other parts of another track, sometimes with 3 tracks running simultaneously.
I make those mixes just for myself, but I think many people would like to hear that, too. I just don't want to give this mix to anybody because it's still other people's music.
I think its also not possible to release such a mix on a label with all copyrights cleared - like it is regularly done with Techno mixes.

I rarely had the chance to hear a mix that really adds something to the underlying tracks. But I had no chance to listen to one of yours, I must admit!
I don't know where it leads to, but I would try it. It would help, if the tracks don't come from a GVL label, as I would have to pay the GVL for every track that came from a CD and is stored on the broadcasting computer for one year -- even if I would play it only once... except if you did it live. Then you won't have to pay them for storing. Small dark ambient labels are most often not associated with the GVL.
What a pity! But maybe everyone interested in False Mirror?s DJ Mix could send him a private message asking for the download link. I had a great time listening to the mix!
@Goten Fixed this side effect of the new php version. Note: In Firefox (or IceCat) any stream link with a semicolon at the end will play directly in the browser, here http://s3.viastrea ming.net:8835/;
